i am managing symantec endpoint 12.0.122.192 and i need to:

    1)  create a rule to restrict my users to be able to change or disable endpoint protection.

    2) enable firewall on the users as some are and some are not.

How shall i do these operations?

    Thanks

For the first question, the best option is to lock the padlocks in the Policies. Just go to Computers select the proper group and click on tab Policies. Then review the policies and lock all the padlocks you wish. For example - if you lock the first padlock from File System Auto-Protect (Enable File System Auto-Protect) users will not be able to disable Symantec Endpoint Protection.

If the firewall is already installed on the machines, it is just enough to enable the firewall policy. Go to Computers select the proper group and click on tab Policies. Open the Firewall policy > Firewall Rules and check the box next to Enable this Firewall Policy.

Your product version is quite old - launched 2,5 years ago. I would strongly suggest you to upgrade it to 12.1.671.4971 (released July this year).

    Hello,

That is because, those clients are not restarted.

If those clients have not been installed with the NTP feature on the machine at all then, you would have to remotely deploy a new package with NTP as a feature.

    Check this Article:

How to remotely deploy the Symantec Endpoint Protection client in version 12.0.x.

    Hope that helps!!
