This issue has been solved. See solution.

hello to all!

We use SEP (11.0.6005.562)

I start with a test group with activated Application and Device Control. I set any USB devices to block. that works fine. but the notification will not pop-up when a user plugged a device.

I set in the policy display in section "device control" the checkbox "Notify users when devices are blocked" and type a information message.

does anybody know why that doesn´t work?

Thanks a lot for helping!

best regards
wilfried

by any chance has it been

by any chance has it been notified once?

The first time Device Control detects a new device is installed, it compares that device to the Blocked Devices List to determine whether to block the device or not. If the device is to be blocked, Device Control modifies the device's driver settings to disable the drivers. It will then notify the user if it has been set to do so. If the device is reattached to the system after this, the Windows Device Manager does not notify Device Control as the drivers are blocked from loading If the drivers are re-enabled, Device Control is notified and will again disable the driver.

half-sulotion

hello to all,

the settings that we are not display the notification area was the reason. after i enable this option the message will display.

But only at first time when i plug in the usb device. after unplugged and and new connect, there is no pop-up message. i also restart the client. but the message will not show again.

is this "made by design" or can i change any option that the message will pop-up every time.

thanks a lot for helping!

best regards
wilfried
