Username Change

This issue has been solved. See solution.
Hi,
We had old username that was used when the Altiris Deployment Server 6.9 (Build 453) was created on the network. Now I created the new username: Service_Altiris. This username is not a Managed Service Account but is a simple user account. I have changed the username and password in all Services, that are required for Altiris to work. The username was also changed in Start--> All Programs--> Altiris--> Deployment Solution--> Configuration-->Account.
When I go to PXE Configuration and want to create a new Boot Disk at the "Step 5 of 12: Network Connection" page you have to specify the username and in the list there is only old username but the new one is not displayed and I cannot edit the list form this page.
Questions:
- How to change these usernames to the newly created one?
- Are there any other places where I have to change the usernames and passwords?
- What else I need to do?
Thanks!!!

Hello Atisexg,
I believe you should take a look at the following article which will help you more regards to the places you need to edit the new user name and password.
http://www.symantec.com/docs/HOWTO2300
I hope this will help resolve your issue.
Best Regards,
Mrinal.
Hi Mrinal,
Thanks for the reply!
I found that article before and tried it but it only gives the solution if you want to change the passwords not if you want to change the username.
Kind regards
Atisexg
Usually the process should go the same way, are there any errors you come across when attempting ? Or its just the username that does not come up ?
Regards,
Mrinal.
I have not experienced any errors but the username doesn't appear when editing or creating new PXE Boot disk.
If I have changed the username and password in the Services console, will that affect the login when deploying automated installation of the image?
There must be a way how to change the usernames in the PXE Boot Disk counsel.
Thanks!!!
Hello ,
I do not think that would really hamper the way the Boot Disk Creator would work, as you have already changed the passwords and username for the necessary services and made sure you have followed HOWTO2300, you should be able to deploy the images.

Mrinal.
Hello Atisexg,
When you are creating PXE image using PXE configuration utility at the "Step 5 of 12: Network Connection" page you have to specify the username . This option lets you define the way the client computers connect to the Deployment Share or a file server that stores image files.
You can enter the authorized user name that you set up while creating the Deployment Share directory. If you did not assign a user name and password while creating the Deployment Share or file server, leave this and the password fields blank.
>> Why you are not able to edit the username at "Step 5 of 12: Network Connection" ?
In your case as old username is not exist which was used when the Altiris Deployment Server 6.9 (Build 453) was created on the network. Hence In Boot disk creator, at "Step 5 of 12: Network Connection" you are not able to edit the username list.
Also make sure that new user that you have created must have access to deployment Share directory so that this new user credentials will successfully used to map deployment Share directory to mapped drive.
>> How to change these usernames to the newly created one?
[USERNAMES]
olduser=1 ................................... this is your old user..... delete this entry
newuser=1..................................this is your new user...... add this entry in file
* Default.bdc file define input for options used in Boot disk creator.
Please check out with the above steps and let me knwo it works for you.
