Ok, this relates to my other post but after talking with my network Manager he wants me to investigate using Altiris with no PXE at all. I am thinking I will have to use WinPE or a Linux Embedded boot image or something but I am having trouble getting that to work with the Dell Vostro 1510 I have been using for testing. All I get is that it is try to establish a network connection. Forgive me but I forget the exact message as I am writing this post from home. I know the Vostro 1510 uses a Realtek 81xxC series NIC and the drivers for the NIC are there but I think the laptop is not getting an IP from DHCP which is why it is displaying the DHCP retrying error. I am so lost at this point so I am in desperate need of help.

You can create a boot image that is installed local to each PC. I do not believe this will require PXE. We did this for years using a DOS boot image.
