can the compliance suite be used to monitor mcafee software currency? up to dateness? thanks

I know it can for SAV / SEP and those are in the windows query options. For Mcafee you could do it but you'd have to use a windows file query on the DAT file then have it reutrn results where the creation date or update date is +/- so many days before today

Yes, with CCS you can create a registry check to report on whether the McAfee .date version and Scanengine is current and up to date.
 You need to create a query based on the 'Machines' datasource to interrogate that particular value in the registry.  You'll need to use a descriptor to get to the identified registry key.
