  • 1.  Using a Distribution List email address to encrypt

    Hey all

I need some help trying to set this up. We have a team of users and we use PGP individually to send encrypted emails to a certain organization. The organization only wants to have 1 public key from us. We have a Distribution List that we have that we can have "Send As" permissions. We need the following.

    1. We need to setup PGP desktop to have a key pair for this distribution list and share the public key with the organization.

    2. When they respond to the DL, we also need to have the ability to decrypt using our personal key.

    3. There are other clients that have our personal public key. We would like to be able to use our own email address for these clients

Any thoughts on how to set this up or if there is a better way.

If you wish, you can create a new keypair to use just with this one customer, and continue to use your existing public keys as you are now.  On one machine, you can generate the new key, and then double click on the key in All Keys, and then use the Add Email Address option to add a User ID for each of your users.  After sending this key to the other company, they can use this key for encryption to any of your users.  If you export this key, making sure to select the option of including the private key in the export, and then import this keypair to each of your users (making sure to then go the Key Properites and set Trust to Implicit), each of your users can decrypt email and files from that company.
