Using Permissions Browser to investigate why an Archive is appearing to multiple users

Ok, have an anomoly here - not sure how or why it's happening.

We have a set of administrators who all see the Vault Archive for one newly added administrator's account.  They do not see each others.

Digging into it, we've used the Permission Browser to get down and take a look.  The anomoloy I'm seeing has to do with the permissions assigned to an Archive vs the top level folder in the Archive (\).

For normally working users, when I click on Select an archive in Permission Browser, it shows that the user's mailbox is the only one that has permissions.  Then, if I click the top level folder (\) under Select a folder, I see the same thing - only the user's mailbox has rights.

For the new administrators account, when I click Select an archive in Permission Browser, it shows that the new administrator's mailbox is the only one that has permissions.  Then, if I clidk the top level folder, I see two entires - the new administrator's mailbox and a group from AD that contains all of the other administrators that see his Vault.  This is what is allowing the others to see his Archive.

We were able to set Deny permissions to to prevent it from being visible, but we would like to figure out how to trigger Vault to fix this as it could occur with other users.

Anyone have a similar experience before I open a ticket?

Thanks.

David, This is quite easy to

David,

This is quite easy to fix.  Simply fix up your permission issues within exchange and Enterprise Vault will then inherit these.  There are a couple of scripts out there on the net, google is your friend should you wish to set the default permissions,  But this is not an Enterprise Vault issue, but an exchange or outlook one.

I do not see the point opening a case with Symantec, because there is nothing they can do for you.
