  • 1.  Using PGP Mail encryption for a few clients

    Posted Jul 03, 2012 03:00 AM

We have a few clients that have asked us to communicate with PGP mail encryption.

I want to know what impact this will have on all other mail in the organisation

We work with a VDI pool and roaming profiles, we have no dedicated pc's.

What happens with mail sent to groupmailboxes ?

What happens with mail sent to mailinglists ?

How can I be sure that nobody else receives, except this client, encrypted mail ?

Is received encrypted mail automatically decrypted, because we save each mail in MSG format to the archives

I do not want encryption in my archive. It must be accessible for everybody within the organisation.

    Hi,

If we're talking just a few users require to send/receive encrypted email, then you can just use PGP Desktop and most of the issues won't come around.  You can specify specific domains with which to encrypt.

If you need this for a lot of people and require a Universal Server, then some configuration would be required on that in order to fulfill your requirements, such as decrpytion for journaling etc, but it is all entirely possible.

How many people in your organisation will be requiring mail encryption?
