  • 1.  Using Symantec Brightmail Gateway with multiple Smart Hosts

Greetings!  Our organizarion has a need to relay mail to multiple smart hosts based on sender domain.  For example, our user mail goes through Office 365, however, we have some applications which route mail through a SMTP provider called SendGrid.  We are looking at potentially another smarthost that is in China.

I am trying to get confirmation on whether any of the following are capabilities of Brightmail Gateway:

    1. Smarthost Authentication - I see where you enter smarthost information for next hop of outbound mail but don't see a way to provide credentials in the case that the service requires it.

    2. Is it possible to have multiple outbound interfaces defined in Brightmail Gateway and assign a particular smarthos to each one?

We are basically trying to avoid having sets of Gateways for each different smarthost that we need to send mail through.  Thanks in advance!

For each domain that you accept mail for, you can provide a specific host to route that mail to after being scanned.

There is no option for the SMG to authenticate to a downstream server.
