Brightmail is trying to release the mail to a mail server on the local host on port 25. You may need to reconfigure Brightmail to release to your mail server directly. Take a look at this doc: http://service1.symantec.com/support/ent-gate.nsf/docid/2004102114345563

Also, go to Settings in the Control Center, select Quarantine in the left column, uncheck the checkbox labeled "Brtightmail Logistics and Operations Center (BLOC)" and click Save. See if that makes a difference. Apparently, if Brightmail is unsuccessful contacting the BLOC to report the release, it will not do the release at all. Unchecking this prevents Brightmail from reporting the release and bypasses the issue. If that works, you might want to take a look at the SBMF manual to see what needs to be done to allow those reports.

    Good luck.

Thanks for your response. I had tried the resolution that was in the Symantec article, but without any joy.

    Any other suggestions anyone ?
