V-79-57344-34110 -- Resource: "servername" is not snappable. Attempting to back up directly from the source volume.
Updated: 21 May 2010 | 2 comments
On a Windows 2000 Server with SQL 2000 Standard installed:
V-79-57344-34110 - Note: Resource: "servername" is not snappable. Attempting to back up directly from the source volume.
We are running BE 12.5 SP1 with all updates and the BE agent on the SQL server is up to date (12.5). This message just showed up at the beginning of this week and has not showed up before on any of our servers.

In the properties of the backup Job, go to the Advanced open file option section under settings. Is this box checked? If so, Is Automatically select open file Technology selected? If so, did you install the AOFO client on the windows 2000 server?

Yes, AOFO is enabled and set
Yes, AOFO is enabled and set to automatically select. The agent does have AOFO included on the install. This has been working on this server for the past 3 years over BE 9, 10, 11d, 12, and 12.5 and earlier this week stopped working with the error reported. Is there a way to restart the AOFO components? I have restarted the BE Agent, but it still gives the error.
