  • 1.  v12 application and device control causes reboots

    Posted Aug 23, 2011 12:03 PM

I upgraded about 14 Windows 7 32bit machines from v11 (full protection) to v12 (full protection). 12 upgraded fine, but 2 started displaying "You are about to be logged off. Windows has encountered a critical problem and will restart automatically in one minute" The computer will restart whether logged in or not.

I am able to boot to safe mode and remove SEP. I completely uninstalled SEP and reinstalled parts one by one and I have managed to track down the it is the application and device control that causes the problem.

No nothing that stands out in logs. This in the System log

9:24:20am Kernel-Power -- The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first

No errors or warnings before or after

    Nothing obvious in other logs

I reinstalled v11 on one of the machines and everything is working, but I cannot get v12 App and Device control to work on either one
