Validation custom actions documented
Created: 31 Jan 2011 | 5 comments
There are a couple of ice15 errors
SetWizardProperty
SetWizardProperty1
SetWizardProperty2
SetMaintanencMode
etc.
Why didn't altiris documented these actions in their application template.wsi. Creating an application out of the box generating those errors.
What description did you use for those Actions?

I can't see...
...how those CAs would trigger an ICE15, since that it is an error returned from table validation and specifically connected with bad/mismatched MIME/Extension entries. http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa368939%28v=vs.85%29.aspx
Don't know why 'x' happened? Want to know why 'y' happened? Use ProcMon and it will tell you.

Thanks EDT, i already added a default comment to the CA. Was just wondering why this was not done by altiris as default and what the best comment was for the CA's.

What can I say? I'm not an employee of Wise/Altiris/Symantec so cannot really give you an answer as to why the comments were omitted. I have met the ladies that used to work in the QA department in Wise, and they were extremely skilled and talented in their jobs while at Wise. I can only surmise that the code was released after their move to other parts of Symantec and therefore the QA was handled by less experienced personnel.
As for the comment, the MS spec suggests that a description of the CA is added, so just entering the CA name would be sufficient, as there is no public documentation which specifically describes the function of the Wise ICE checks.
