This issue has been solved. See solution.

Hi

When enabled Vault Cache "lets offline users open archived items from Enterprise Vault shortcuts"

What about online users ? Is there a way to make them also retrieve archived item from local computer (vault cache) while still online ?

The aim is to to conserve bandwidth or to make archived item available to online users when the EV server is down

Thanks

VAC Policies > Exchange >

Sure, open up the VAC

Policies --> Exchange --> Desktop  --> Advcaned --> Vault Cache --> Offline Store Required --> NO

Remember to run a sync, and then close and reopen outlook

Hi, If I am correct, the VC

Hi,

If I am correct, the VC will always open an archived mail locally if Vault Cache is enabled, even if online.

If the related content is not found locally, it will try to find it on the EV server.

In this case, there is no extra bandwidth used between client and EV server when user is online.

Well my question about

Well my question about Outlook cached mode, or not, in relation to network usage...  if cached mode is enabled in Outlook that'll also save network usage.  But it sounds like Outlook cached mode is not enabled, which is why EV needs the tweak to the policy setting.  I would have thought that (depending on the archiving policy) that Exchange to Outlook traffic will be higher than Outlook to EV traffic.
