This issue has been solved. See solution.

Hi,

We have deployed EV 8 with SP3, for Exchange 2007 users.

Keen to check if Vault Cache works over RPC Over HTTP Connection, while its configured to use EV Proxy.

As per the article http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/316191.htm Vault cache will not work while policies are configured to use proxy.
And "direct" settng requires users to have a host file resolving to the internal ev server names. (Which is not possible to implement, in the envronment)

Article says this will be fixed in next major releses. We have recently deployed EV 8 SP3, keen to check if that fixes this issue.

Would be great if any could clarify me on this and let me know if there are any work arounds for this solution.

thanks
Narayana

Next Major Version = EV9

So, unfortunately, this has not been fixed/enhanced in EV8 SP3

It is hoped that this will be

It is hoped that this will be addressed in EV 8 SP 4.  The changes are nearly complete, and will then need quite a lot of QA time to validate that it works.

There are _some_ workarounds, alot of it depends on the environmental specifics of the EV implementation.  The specifics are probably best described via a Support Case however, as I'd be typing here for a month if I were to go in to all the possibilities. :)

Right now the "official" support is Exchange 2007 needs to be setup to "go direct".

If it is the same "story" as

If it is the same "story" as with Move Archive (was "promised" for EV8 RTM... SP1... SP2... SP3....   yet it is not here.... *g*), I would not count on that SP4 thing :) :)

Hi, I am trying to modify the

Hi,

I am trying to modify the Alias, to the one which can be resolved internally & externally, to make vault cache work for RPC users.

This solution is a work around to avoid Host files on all desktops

Does this solution work?

Lakshmi, It depends how

Lakshmi,

It depends how you're going to alter it...  It might work in some environments, yes.

Hope that helps,
