This issue has been solved. See solution.

we have Vault confiugred couple of months back and ejecting tapes once in a week but due to some issues we didn't run the vault ~ 5 weeks so on following week i thought it will list all of the previous non-running week pickup/recall list of tapes too..but looks like i am wrong ( below is from vault guide ).

"A backup tape appears on the Picking List for Vault and Distribution List for Robot only once. If a tape from that report is missed and is not returned to the
robot, it never again is listed for recall"

I run the vault report and noticed bunch of tapes listed expired in past couple of months we can see in expiration date / Requested date in my attached image so can i recall them now ??

interestigly i run the lost-Media report under vault but there these tapes are not coming up.

Yes, you can recall those tapes. All tapes with Assign Time column empty can be recalled.

From the screenshot I cannot figure out if that expiration date is hardware or image expiration date.

Image expiration date is normally removed when all images have expired.

Please show us output of this command for one of those tapes:

/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/admincmd/nbemmcmd -listmedia -mediaid <media-id>
