Vault Store Group backups

This issue has been solved. See solution.

Currently, In my Vault Store Group I have 7 Vault Stores. Each store is 800GB. Backing up these stores seem to be a problem now because backing up any of these requires putting all of them in backup mode (Read Only). Is there anyway to separate these so that one can be backed up without effecting the others?

When you say Store do you mean the partitions?  You could close large partitions and open new ones that will be quicker to back up.  You then would just need to run a full back up on the closed partitions weekly or so.

I'm sorry, I mean partitions. There is only one partition open. We try to run a full backup on each closed partiton once a week.

So how big is your open partition and how long is it taking?

It is actually our closed partitions. We have 7 of them and each is around 730-750GB. We only run a backup (Full) once a week. The backup runs into production time and since the databases are read-only during backups this a problem for users.

Well I don't think your environment needs to be in backup mode for closed partitions.  Just make sure that if you run collections or expiry that neither are scheduled to be run during the backup window and you should be good to go.

Is there any way to break these out so that 1 close partition can be backed up without putting the entire group in backup mode?

Sorry but no, backup mode is at the Vault Store level.
