This issue has been solved. See solution.

Hi,

I need to to bring up a 'Dual' node LR setup using Sun servers. While doing the Solaris OS and VCS installations , is it possible to work only with one server ? What I mean is that is it possible to start installations with only one server and disk storage available and connect the second server only after all installations are completed.

Yes, it is very much possible...

You have multiple ways to achieve this:

1)

You can keep heartbeats disconnected..

Install first node with installer or installsf or installvcs command...  on second node use installvcs/installsf -installonly  ( - installonly is a switch by which configuration will not happen, just packages will be installed) .... when you are ready to bring second node in the cluster, just connect the heartbeats & run installsf/installvcs -configure....

2) you can install one node & generate a responsefile from it, when you are ready for second node, install software using responsefile.... see help for installsf/installvcs -h

3) You can install both the nodes & even configure both the nodes in the cluster... once cluster is formed, stop "HAD" on one node so that only one node is alive with cluster, or else start cluster on first node with "onenode" option, that will make a single node cluster.

You can refer to this for details on how to add node to existing cluster
