Verification on SEP version 11 database maintenance options

We are currently using SEP version 11.0.7 with the embedded database option. KB articles such as http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH168121 discuss the feature of using the options such as rebuilding indexes and truncating transaction logs for database maintenance. I wished to verify that these options are only available with an external database and not with the embedded version. The reason I wished to ask is these two database maintenance options appear to be missing within our installation. Thanks.

These option is available in SEP 12.1. One of the new feature in SEP 12.1
You are having SEP 11.x that's why it's not there.

Incorrect. This option was certainly available for SEP 11 but ONLY when using Microsoft SQL, not with the embedded database.
