This issue has been solved. See solution.

Hi All,

Good morning,

Whether VERITAS 3.4  compatible with Sun Solaris 10. We have Veritas 3.4 installed on Solaris 8. In new server we have installed Sun Solaris 10 update 7, so we need to know whether VERITAS 3.4 is compatiable with Solaris 10.

Thanks,

Satheesh

Sorry my friend, the answer

Sorry my friend, the answer is no.

The first Storage Foundation/Volume manager that supported Solaris 10 was version 4.1, but even that version is now EOSL.

You need version 5.1 or the newly released version 6.0.

Speak to your local Symantec reseller.

Supporting Storage Foundation and VCS on Unix and Windows as well as NetBackup on Unix and Windows.

Hi Satheesh, Marianne is

Hi Satheesh,

Marianne is right , answer is NO.

3.4 was end of support years back, it is strongly recommended to upgrade to latest version 5.1/6.0 othewise you will not get any support from Symantec in case of any issue .. neither any documentation would be available now..

For any release related information like which SF version supports what OS version, refer to Release notes for product..
