Hi,

We have some specific set of Master Servers(veritas 6.5) which do not auto-refresh inpsite of the auto-refresh feature being enabled. Therefore we need to keep logging out and relogin to these servers every 2-3 hrs. There are other servers which we connect to using the same pc and they work absolutely fine.

The version that we are using is 6.5.

Note: The same problematic servers open fine and remain connected fine for weeks for our counterparts working in australia. Not sure what could be wrong!

Please help!!!

Try selecting 'View' then 'Options' and on the 'Activity Monitor' tab there is a 'Refresh rate field' in seconds. There is also one on the 'Device Monitor' tab.

Also Its recommended to apply released patches (currrently 6.5.3 Released - upgrade it, will give you best results)

Download 6.5.3 from the below link and test :)

Hi Karthikeyan,

Thanks for your response. The "auto-refresh" under view options is already enabled and set to 60 secs. Couldn't find anything under Device Monitor tab.

From the link that you gave I was not able to make out which option to choose to download the patch. I am connecting to the servers using VMWare which has got Windows XP Professional 2002 SP2 hence wasn't sure which is the right option.

I just clicked on "Release Update NB_6.5.2A.winnt.x64.exe" for trial and clicked the "Download" option and got the following error:

ERROR The requested URL could not be retrieved

While trying to retrieve the URL: ftp://exftpp.symantec.com/pub/support/products/NetBackup_Enterprise_Server/NB_6.5.2A.winnt.x64_305654.exe

The following error was encountered:

Chitra-

Download is Based on your Application and Veritas Versions

Ex:

Veritas 32 Bit software in WInwows OS - http://entsupport.symantec.com/docs/314591

Veritas 64 Bit software in WInwows OS - http://entsupport.symantec.com/docs/314590

I think Error you are getting is because of some access issue ! Also one more thing is Patch is uploaded in Symantec FTP Site, you should need proper access to FTP site access, check with your network team guys or who is taking of FTP issues and get proper access and try it again !

Thanks, Karthikeyan Sundaram.

Might be worth checking your XP firewall settings and tcpip port exceptions ... i've often seen funny behaviour due to these applications on Vista or XP machines with NetBackup.
