This issue has been solved. See solution.
Hello,
Veritas net backup is taking huge C: drive space that causes space issues.. screenshot attached which doesn't look normal.. is there a way to reduce the size of it ... by moving the files on it which should not affect the backup and restore..

Older log files in each of the log folders can be removed (current one will be 'in use').
NOTHING in db can be removed.
NBU image database is in db and will consume lots of space if you have long retention periods and lots of files getting backed up.
For details, see this topic in NBU Admin Guide 1: Estimating catalog space requirements
(more in the manual...)
1. Catalog compression
2. Catalog archiving
3. Move images to filesystem with sufficient space.
See the manual for details of each method.

Addition to Marianne post:
This look like a master server. Usually 40GB is way to small for a Master server with more than just a few backups. There is nothing you can do other than add extra disk space. All other effort will only provide temporary relief.
Assumption is the mother of all mess ups.

40Gb drive on a server?!? That's smaller than typical desktop workstation these days.
I'd suggest 200Gb minimum.
will restore -- where there is a Will there is a way
Thanks Marianne, the document was really helpful. i have moved the images to different file system and mentioned the alt_path.
