VIP Test Drive Error
Created: 01 Mar 2013 | Updated: 12 Mar 2013 | 3 comments
This issue has been solved. See solution.
I just download the APIs for (VIP) Developer Test Drive (http://www.symantec.com/connect/vip-developer), but Im getting an error when try to access the URL https://pilot-vipservices-auth.verisign.com.
The error is "The request was aborted: Could not create SSL/TLS secure channel".
When looking for the error I discovered that the file certificate TesteDrive.p12, that comes with the SDK, was expired on 24 Feb 2013.
The questions are:
1. does this expired certificate be the cause of the error?
2. is the certificate associated with the URL https://pilot-vipservices-auth.verisign.com?
3. can i get a new valid certificate?
Thanks in advance.

Dear Ctsh,
We are currently working on resolving the certificate issue with the Test Drive SDK. You will see a new download posted to address this issue in a week or so.
However, if you are already a Symantec VIP customer, we will suggest you to contact your Symantec Sales contact and request for evaluation of a newer version of SDK that provides added security and enhanced APIs with Intelligent Authenitcation under a signed non-disclosure agreement.

Has this been resolved? I have the same issue currently, (just downloaded today).
Hi All,
The zip download has been updated with a new certificate on April 10, 2013. Hence, you should be able to download and use the TestDrive SDK zip file.
However, if you are already a Symantec VIP customer, we will suggest you to contact your Symantec Sales contact and request for evaluation of a newer version of SDK that provides added security and enhanced APIs with Intelligent Authenitcation under a signed non-disclosure agreement.
Regards,
Symantec VIP Team
