  • 1.  Virtual disk "Enter Passphrase" box not accepting typed characters

I am using WIndows 8.1 and Symantec Desktop Encryption 10.3.1.

After upgrading to Windows 8.1, I am experiencing a problem with the "Enter Passphrase" popup box when mounting a virtual disk.

I created a small (12GB) virtual disk in Fat 32 format (The same problem occurs with NTFS format).  When I try to mount the virtual disk, the "Enter Passphrase" box will popup as usual, but it will not accept any typed characters.  The cursor blinks at the far left of the box, and remains there no matter what I type.  This is not a "show keystrokes" issue, rather the cursor is stuck at the far left, and nothing I type appears.

I'd be grateful for any help.  Thanks.

    John

P.S. The hard drive is an unencrypted data drive.

Not sure if this is the reason, but 10.3.1 isn't supported on 8.1 yet.  Was it working previously on 8.0?

Worked fine with Windows 8.  I wasn't aware that upgrading to 8.1 could cause a problem.  If others who have upgraded to WIndows 8.1 are experiencing the same problem, then I suppose that confirms that the upgrade caused the problem.
