I'm currently under the understanding that the Virtual Partition is not available as a boot option in GSS3.0.  Is this corrcect?

If so, will it be developed as an option in GSS3.x at a later point  ...is this still an objective and is there a time frame?

 

Converting to PXE isn't all that enthralling for us ...and certainly visiting all the organizations computer to enable it isn't too inviting an idea either.

We're working on this as one of our top priorities, stay tuned!

The reason we released now rather than wait until we have a few more important pieces in place is that our customers were desperate for a solution to support newer operating systems. We'll be back filling some of the functional gaps as soon as we can.

The switch from 2.5 to 3.0 is going to be a little messy for a while as we pick through the improvements we need to make but were committed to doing our best to bring you a comparable experience as far as we can.

Please tell me this includes the ability to install an automation partition on an XP machine (32 bit), so that we can migrate to Win7 and beyond. I have 800 PC that I also would rather not visit personally if I can avoid it. I want to be able to push an automation partition using GSS 3.0 or use a USB drive to install from on the base PC OS (in our case XP SP3 32 bit). Without this, there is no way for us to do work in a timely manner. We are not using PXE boot either, for a lot of reasons, so that is not an option. Please let me know where things are going.

You can use Ghost 2.5 to deploy Windows 7, joining Micrsosoft AD and etc.

I just bought the new GSS 3 with 50 licenses.

I was very disappointed to know that it not supported virtual partition as was in GSS 2.5.

our organization not supported PXE and I'm unable to deploy or backup images...

I see that the last post was at July, is there is someting new with it? any update?....
