virtualizing Google's Chrome

I recently tried virtualizing Chrome and ran across an interesting fact. If you download the standalone installer of Chrome it does not include the update feature (googleupdater.exe), Google Gears, and isn't able to (easily) install plugins or make separate shortcuts to webapps on the desktop.

I understand why the updater and Gears are not installed, but the 2nd two functions would appear to be part of the browser but aren't working virtualized.

I also tried capturing Chrome with the internet connection installer. Doing it this way makes the browser function just like it would if installed to your base system. I've never captured a program that downloads the installation from the net, so I don't know if there are particular rules to follow. Are there? (I remember seeing articles on the juice about this, but I'm unable to find them at the moment).

using an internet connection installer should behave as normal.
