    Hi,

I would like to config SEP client to update virus definition from SEPM, don't let all user to do Liveupdate directly. Do I need to do any setup? Or the SEPM can update client virus definition automatically? I am using SEP V11 MR4 MP1a to do test. My test environment don't have internet access. So I download the .jdb virus definition file and copy to \Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\data\inbox\content\incoming. After some time, the folder become empty. It suppose SEPM take it? I check SEP in SEPM. It still don't have any definition. Of cause it didn't push the virus definition to client. Any help or suggestion isewlcome.

    Thanks

    Hi Esi,

Please Stop SEPM and all services of Symantec and then copy JDB file to Incoming folder and start all the services of Symantec.

If your server could not connected to internet so you have to update manually by using .JDB file.

Jdb file will update only the antivirus & antispyware definitions in the SEPM. The default configuration of SEPM meets your needs.

    Because by default:

    1. Liveupdate button is disabled in the SEP client interface
    2. SEP client is supposed to take the definitions only from SEPM.

If you have installed the SEP clients with only AV/AS then, they should be able to take the definitions from SEPM.

Make sure that the clients are communicating with the SEPM.

    Cheers,
