Hi, does any one knows if there is a problem with the virus definitions for MACINTOSH clients with Symantec Endpoint Protection v12.1 RU2?

The last definition my clients have is  "03/27/2015 r18", after that, only other Macintosh SEP Clients (RU4, RU5) are updating correctly.

If I run the LiveUpdate on clients, it says the client have the last definition available.

I've an internal LUA server, but I've tried from the Default Symantec Server with the same result.

I have 333 clients (SEP 12.1 RU2 & OS 10.6.8) and some of my internal alarms/monitoring are turning in red because the "old" definition in the clients.

Many thanks for making a post about the SEP for Mac 12.1 RU2 defs. This is an issue that is currently receiving attention- if the OS can support it, my recommendation is to upgrade the SEP for Mac clients to 12.1 RU4 or above, as the definitions issue is only affecting RU2 and below.

12.1 RU4 and above do require OSX 10.7 - http://kbdownload.symantec.com/resources/sites/BUS...

But SEP 12.1 RU3 still works with OSx 10.6.8 http://kbdownload.symantec.com/resources/sites/BUS...Try upgrading to RU3 to see if that is able to receive definitions.

I will update this thread when there is news about a solution or workaround.  It is receiving high priority.

Definitions have FINALLY (about an hour ago) been posted to http://www.symantec.com/security_response/definitions/download/detail.jsp?gid=nmc.  They won't update through LiveUpdate for me, but I was able to download the Intelligent Updater package, and my definitions say that they're updated.

If that doesn't work, you can get to it through the "Virus Definitions & Security Updates" page and choose "Symantec Endpoint Protection for Macintosh 12.x" from the dropdown.

Those files can be used on any version up to 12.1 RU3... the definitions (and many other features) changed in SEP for Mac RU4.

I will update this thread with any new developments.
