This issue has been solved. See solution.

I have Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager MR4MP2 installed on my Server with about 200 clients reporting to it. The Client on the server was showing Auto-Protect malfuntioning so I re-installed it.Now the client shows green circle but the symantec protection manager is not updating the virus defintions since then.
When i manually run liveupdate it does not download anything. When i run luall.exe from run it says that everything is up-to-date but nothing gets updated.
Do i need to re-install SEPM or upgrade to MR5 ? Please help.

thanks,
manish

No need to re-install SEPM

No need to re-install SEPM the liveupdate must have got de-registred with SEPM.
So re-install liveupdate and register it with sepm by running luacatalog -update command
follow this article on how to do it step by step.

Live Update

Since these are managed client, you first need to check whether the SEPM has the latest definitions because the clients take the definitions from SEPM(Default Configuration). You can try updating the definitions on the manager using the rapid release definitions.

In case it does then you can go in for either the reinstallation of Live Update. In case this does not help try downloading and installing Live Update 3.4 from the following site.
