Virus Scans In Sleep Mode

Is it possible to have a virus scan kick off while a PC is in sleep mode? in hibernate mode? If yes, then how?

Thanks,

no, you would need to use something like LANDesk or similar to "wake" the machines first.

Does that go for both sleep mode and hibernate mode?

There is an MS article stating that apps can be programmed to instigate a wakeup form sleep state:

Will Symantec consider this approach going forward in a newer version of the SEP client or successor?

Just an addon to this...we've found that laptops that go into sleep mode before the scan kicks off, will initiate the scan when the user logs in first thing the next morning and haven't found a way around it - outside of rebooting the PC or giving users the ability to cancel (which I don't want to do).
