Just in case, having up to date virus defs is simply not enough. Many of the newer viruses require multiple layers of defense\removal. This usually includes Microsoft patches and removal tools, in the case of Welchia and Sasser amongst others.

If the AV isn't possible to remove the virus/trojan or whatever bad thing is going on as they mostly use self-survival technic, download IceSword to find out the (survival) "triggers". It's manually investigation but should give you what you need to remove it through this tool.
