Hi Guys,
I don't know what is the reason behind this directory growth C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\VirusDefs that grows bigger sometimes got more than 5 Virus Definitions as opposed to just three by default ?
What could be the cause ?
Sounds like it's not being processed correctly by SEP..
by right it should automatically remove the 2 older defs...
That is why I'm asking here ?
it has got two directories with the same day or twice per day time stamp.
for SEP 12, it should only hold 1 definition revision by default.
Can you open a support ticket?
Does the number of revisions keep on changing on this system?
Are you using 12.1?
Try to take a look below might be related... but somehow i doubt it got corrupted

hi,
it appears to be corrupt virus definitions and the client keeps requesting full definition files over and over.
Check this fourms.

For the SEPM yes it is 12.1 while for the SEP client it is still version 11.0.5
