Virutal Machine Backup - Failed to Mount

Created: 20 Nov 2012 • Updated: 21 Nov 2012 | 1 comment

This is the error message i get when attempting to backup my HyperV Server

V-79-57344-38721 - Failed to mount one or more virtual disk images:

My Environment:

BackupExec 2012 (appliacne) Windows server 2008r2

Hyper V Server

Windows Server 2008 r2 Datacenter - Seems to be backing up everything else fine - agent installed, backup regime set on this server. Backs up nightly (friday, full backup, everyother night Incremental). Backs up to DeDuplicated Disk.

Virtual Servers on the host

Windows Server 2008r2 Enterprise - Agent installed and trust with server built, no backup regime set on this server

I have read all the tech articles etc related to that error and none seem to apply. I am not using VMWare and i am not backing up directly to tape. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Does the VM have a GPT disk

The failed to mount error means that GRT is selected in the job and is not working.
