Some info

Assuming NetBackup and VMware (ESX 3.5 or 4.0?)

Software:
Recommend you update NetBackup components to 6.5.4 (since 6.5 there have been a lot of bug fixes and improvements made to performing 'VCB backups')
Recommend VMware ESX 3.5 Update 2 and above for VMware hosts. VCB 1.5 for VMware Consolidated Backup on a Windows 2003 Server proxy server. There is a update 1.5.1 if you want to use VCB with ESX 4.0 (vSphere)
The proxy server must have access to the storage that your VM's are located on.
