VM restore in a VMware server through Vcenter by BE 2012 Server.

Created: 03 Feb 2013 • Updated: 03 Feb 2013 | 1 comment

Hi,

I was planning for a restoration of a VM inside a ESX 5.0 server box.

I was taking backup through Vcenter 5.

Details :-

1. Three VMware ESXi Server.

2. VM data (VMDk, VMS, etc ) are inside a storage.

3. Backup done through Vcenter 5.

4. Backup Exec 2012 in a physical server.

5. Destination - disk based storage.

Any tips , best practice for this VM restoration.

Any concern or caution need to be taken while doing restore..

Hi,

You would point it to the vCenter server and do the restore, and if the VM still exists, you should get asked in the wizard whether or not you want to overwrite the existing VM.

Thanks!
