Hi All,

Recently we had an issue with Media Server, error code 70, VMD unable to connect. The resolution to this was to insert information in VM.CONF file.

One such entry which was put in was " KNOWN ENTRIES"

Can someone provide more information on these KNOWN ENTRIES

e.g. KNOWN = xxxxxxx(master server name)

many entiries for the vm.conf file have now been migrated to the EMM database

In general now on th emedia server name and maybe the media id generation rules are used in it.

The KNOWN = entry was more important in earlier versions when each media server held all of its own configurations and a Master or other server needed to query it for information - especially in say a Shared Storage Option situation

So it was a little like the Addition Servers entry in the bp.conf but all related to media and devices

Hope this helps
