VMDK Verify/Restore Problem
I have been able to successfully configure and perform VCB backups without too much fuss, Thank God. But it seems that restores of the VMDK file is another story. I was wondering if anyone has had similar problems and may have a solution.
Environment:
Master Server
Windows 2003 Enterprise
Netbackup 6.5.3
Media Server/Proxy Server
Windows 2003 Enterprise
Netbackup 6.5.3
VCB 1.5
VMware Converter 3.0.3
When I try to verify the full backup I am receiving the following error messages:
Compressed length does not match for the /\\. \E_VMDKMAP, in image is 15, in database is 16
Or
Verify of Policy VCB_Server, schedule Full (Nad2test_1246130196) failed, the database contains conflicting or erroneous entries
Or
Verify of policy VCB_Server, schedule Full (Nad2server_1246146966) failed, extended error status has been encountered, check logs.
I am using Virtual Machine Backup value 3, so that both VMDK files and daily incremental backups can be performed. The full backups always complete with a status code of 0.
If anyone has any thoughts on these error messages, please let mw know.

Restore Problem
Hi,
try to restore a VMDK on to the proxy server and check, also confirm that verify means you are verifying image under catalog, if no please let me know what do you mean in verifying images...
we are performing sample resotration at regular intervals with the same configuration u stated... so do a sample restoration and check.

Issue was solved with NBU 6.5.4
I have had similar issue so I opened a case to symantec. The outcome was that in the NBU 6.5.3 bpverify has some issues. CE adviced me to upgrade to 6.5.4. After patching to 6.5.4 problem has disappeared. So to summarize if You only can, please patch this env to NBU 6.5.4.
