Hello, See the command

Hello,

See the command tpconfig. does it lists the same information as vmoprcmd ?

What's your master server? media server? OS?

What's your tape library?

Regards.

Try the following

Hi Aman,

1) check the drive status using robtest command, there may be any media stuck in the drive. if you will find such than try to move the media out, using

mv media-id driveno slotno

If the problem still persist, then try the followin.

2)If it is possible for you, then reset the drive manually. Means make drive down(off) using physical switch attached with backside of the drive, and then make it up(on).

Now check the drive status using vmoprcmd.

checkups

Hi
Please check if the drive no. under NBU is the same one as defined on library side.
ie. on NBU this drive can be 2, and on your library it can be 3. If you have such misconfiguraiton then vmoprcmd will never be able to up that drive.
commands which might help to run
tpautoconf -t
tpautoconf -reportdisc
tpconfig -d
on AIX box run
lsdev -Cc tape
to see if your drives are still there - maybe you should run rmdev -dl rmtX followed by cfgmgr -v to see if this drive is still attached
lscfg -vpl rmtX
where X is the desired drive no. Check if its serial no. corresponds to the correct one on library side (S/N will be showed only for IBM drives)
