Snapshot in VI Client, Access to the VM LUN?

1. Make sure you can perform a Snapshot of the VM in the VI Client first.
Snapshots grow in 16 MB increments. Do you have that amount free on the Datastore of the VM?

2. Make sure the VCB proxy has access to the volume that the VM for backup is on.
Check Disk Management, Rescan Disks

3. Credentials for Virtual Machine Server are correct/valid. 6.5.4 has a handy Validate Credentials check in the Admin GUI
http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/319313.htm

4. VMware Tools installed and at least the latest: Status OK in VI Client Summary page for VM
http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/320865.htm

5. Test with the vcbmounter command on the proxy and remove NetBackup
http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/315354.htm

Tip: Get overview/document your NBU environment. Run 'nbsu' and review the output.
