    hi,

    i have ghost suite last version
    and i need to make a clone for my windows xp (c:)

    so i use ghost32.exe
    i have always the error message "Volume could not be locked" when i would like to make copy on usb disque..


    why

    Of course you would! Volume is a system volume and is locked by the Windows. Your only option is to use "hot imaging" or "volume snapshot". If you are running task from the Console you can just check that option on. If you run ghost manually then you can select an option to "use volume snapshot" when it prompts you that it cannot lock the volume.

    You need to be using GSS 2.5 (ghost 11.5), earlier versions dont have support for hot imaging and we dont support hot imaging on server platforms.

    Otherwise your only option is to take image "cold" from within preOS - Winpe or DOS or Linux.
