This issue has been solved. See solution.

We are running VOM 5 and created few VBSes. We want to give admin priveleges to few userIDs. Can we do it? How can we do? Any steps?

Thanks in advance.

Just to be clear, it sounds like you want to allow non-root logins to have admin privelages.  Is that correct ?

If so, again to be clear, this is a seperate functionality from creating VBS's (except that admin privelages are required to create a VBS).

If this is what you want todo, this can be accomplished by configuring Security Groups.  Here is a technote on the subject.

Setting up Security Groups in VOM (additional login)

This is also detailed in Chapter 11 of the Administrators guide (available at

If you are using LDAP authentication rather than OS (unixpwd) authentication, the concept is still the same.  You would referenc the LDAP group name instead of the OS-based groiup name.

Please let me know if this aqnswers your question and you are successful.

Sorry for the late reply.

What I want to do it. There are lots of VBS on our VOM console and I need to give access to user1 to VBS1, VBS2 and VBS3.

Is it possible to do it?  We are running VOM5.
