    Hi,

I am a Vontu user. I would like to know if Vontu discover scanning (keyword search for the whole of C:\ drive) would skip certain types of files in the scan, such as the system file and hidden files? I have done a scan of the whole of the C:\ drive on a PC and the 'bytes scanned' on completion is only about half of the total used disk space on the PC. The total used space of the PC is about 26GB but the 'bytes scanned' on Vontu discover scanning completion is only about 11GB. Would you please advise what's the behaviour of Vontu discover scanning?

    Many thanks.

It depends on how you have the scan configured... If you look in the agent configuration it will tell you what portins of the drive are being ignored.

    The default configuration excludes:

    $Cookies$\*
    $InternetCache$\*
    $LocalAppData$\*
    $LocalAppData$\..\Temp\*
    $LocalAppDataLow$\*
    $RoamingAppData$\*
    $Windows$\Prefetch\*
    $Windows$\SoftwareDistribution\*
    *\System Volume Information\*
