Hi,

Our customer plans to implement Sybase and wants to use Sybase's native clustering for HA. But at the same time they would like to use the power of Veritas filesystem and volume manager through VSF.

I wanted to enquire should we propose

  • VSF CFS
  • VSF Enterprise

OR

  • VSF for database (Sybase)?

Best regards,

AG

For the case listed above (Sybase in HA active/passive mode),

VSF Sybase will provide VxFS + Quick IO for high throughput performance.

Adding CFS on top of that will improve failover times and reduce downtime in the same environment
