Please I need to know if the following senario will work as it is:

1. Source Host: Solaris 9, SF 4.1 + Volume replicator

2. Target Host: Solaris 10, SF 5.0 +Volume replicator

I need to initiate Volume replication between Source and Target hosts.

If any updates needed to be applied, please inform me.

Thanks

Re: VVR replication between different SF and Solaris versions

Yes, assuming they are running the same architecture (SPARC to SPARC for example).

Highly recommended to move to the latest MP's if you are running GA versions of the products.

though it is possible as

though it is possible as Douglas said, still there are a couple of things you need to pay attention.

I have no experience with replication across different versions combined,  but are those volumes in a disk group that runs in a same dg version?

Even across DG versions so

Even across DG versions so will VVR work, shouldn't be an issue.
