This issue has been solved. See solution.

Environment

RHEL = 5.3

SFHA/DR = 5.0 MP3RP3

Primary Site = Two Nodes Cluster

DR Site = One Node Cluster

Problem

vxesd is consuming 99% of my CPU. I saw the below TN which says that it is fixed in "5.0 MP3 rp2." but when I see run the command "# rpm -qa | grep VRTS" I see a mixmatch of version numbers. So my question is what package (regarding this issue) I see that the package is patched with 5.0 MP3 rp2

Got the answer:

Event Source Daemon (ESD aka vxesd) is a Volume Manager (VxVM) component process, mentioned in another TechNote below:

SOLUTION
Marianne's picture

I have recommended in your other post to upgrade to 5.1SP1.
Lots of fixes and enhancements included in version 5.1 plus your RHEL 5.3 is still supported.

Supporting Storage Foundation and VCS on Unix and Windows as well as NetBackup on Unix and Windows
Handy NBU Links

Yap you are right Marianne. Also thanks for reminding. But due to some reason I was only able to update the patch at one Node and this is also down for some reason. So the un updated Node was facinf the above mentioned problem thats why I posted in an individual thread. But thanks for your input.
