This issue has been solved. See solution.

On my SEPM server the process w3wp.exe is running at 30-50% CPU utilization. It has been doing this for 2 days now. I've reset IIS already, any ideas?

Running 11.0.4014.26 as the SEPM.

Try to narrow down the actual issue

Are there any other web intensive apps apart from SEPM on your server? Try uninstalling SEPM(temporarily) and see whether the issue still exists.

No other Web Apps

The only function this server provides is the SEPM for our network. No other web apps installed on it that i'm aware of.

If you could let us know the following :-

OS and the service pack ?

Any other role assigned to this Server  ?

Was SEPM installed on the default website or a custom website ?

Was it an upgrade from a previous version or a fresh installation ?

Is SEP Client also installed on this machine ?

If yes the version ?

IIS Version ?

The Microsoft .net framework version ?

Thanks & Regards Sandip C Sali

So far so good

Server is looking ok right now. It's been doing better in recent weeks. I configured the SEPM to only run liveupdate at night. That seemed to help quite a bit. Don't know why, it just did.

I upgraded to MR4 MP2 this morning. So far so good....... But then again that is how you jinx yourself......
