Wake on Lan in ITMS 7.5

HI

What is the feature in ITMS 7.5 to enable wake on LAN systems...... In ITMS 7.1 there is Out of Band Management available but in Client Management Suite 7.5 I am not able to found Out of Band Management. Where we get this feataure and what are the pre-requisites.

Hi CBZ9104,

If you mean about to perform WOL actions from SMP Server for managed client computers, then you need to:

  1. Enable "Tickle" in Symantec Management Agent settings

     2. Open "Jobs and Tasks" in SMP Console ⇒ create new Task ⇒ choose "Power Control" ⇒ choose "Wake-On-LAN" ⇒ click "Advanced" and set WOL port. ⇒ Rename current task name from "Power Control" to "Wake On Lan" and save changes.

Thanks for reply but what plug in we used to perform action because in ITMS 7.1 it has out of band management plug-in in ITMS 7.5 is there any plug in?

"Wake On Lan" task execution requires to have "Symantec Management Agent" installed with enabled "Tickle" and registered Client Task Agent with Task Server. No other solution plug-ins are required for this.
