  • 1.  A way to spread the update load over hours??

    Team

Just wondering if there is a way to spread the load of updates to remote sites over hours instead of all at once??

The issue I'm facing is that as soon as everyone comes into the office all at once and logs on, the PC's all goto run their updates the network gets smashed and utiliization runs straight to 95+% causing me major issues with managers screaming at me as they try and access the File server in another state...

Can this be done through SEPM? Or any other way without having a SEPM in each state (I havent checked licensing to see if you can have multiple SEPM on the same license this way)?
    Thanks

    SEPM 12.1.6 (12.1 RU6) Build 6168 (12.1.6188.6000) running on Windows 7 SP1 box.

    Most clients Windows 7

    No Windows 8/10

Few XP machines which will be gone in next 2 months.

Yes, you can configure Group Update Providers (GUPs). These would be machines at local sites that hand out content to the clients instead of them coming back over the WAN.

    See here:
