    Hello,

There are a number of methods -

    1) SEPM

    2) Group Update Providers

    3) Liveupdate (Internet)

    4) Liveupdate Administrator

    5) Manually Update SEPM and SEP client via .jdb and Intelligent updater.

    6) Third Party Distribution Tools.

    Check these Articles:

Symantec LiveUpdate, SEPM, GUP, or manually using a JDB file (if on 12.1 RU3, all 3 components are now updated)

Are you having issues with updating clients?

    Hello All,

    I agree with Brian.

What version of SEP 12.1 are you running? Make sure you are running the Latest version of SEP 12.1 RU3

You could update the SONAR and IPS via Intelligent updater in SEP 12.1 RU3.

SONAR and IPS Intelligent updater (IU) are now available on :

    http://www.symantec.com/security_response/definitions.jsp

In case, you are facing difficulty with Liveupdate defintions, try troubleshooting article:

    http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH95790

You may like to check this Downloadable Script to "Script to download Definitions from SEPM"

NOTE: This is not provided neither supported by Symantec.

    Hope that helps!!
