Web Gateway Virtual Edition Hardware

Is it possible to somehow configure Web Gateway in ESXi 5 to work in inline + proxy with 4 gb`s of ram and 2 x nic`s.I know that recomended in this scenario is 8 gb ram and 3 x nic`s.If anyone has allready tried please let me know,the web gateway will be used in production enviroment.

Hi Jordanco,

some things to bear in mind about that:
- When the proxy is enabled, separate subnet for the MGMT interface is mandatory. This means you will need 3 NICs to run Inline + Proxy (MGMT, LAN, WAN) .
- SWG Virtual Edition does not include a bypass mode like the hardware models do, so this will block all the traffic if the service is disabled or you reboot the box.
- The SWG VM will not meet the memory requirements set for Proxy + Inline and that means you could experience issues because of this.
- If you experience issues and contact Symantec Support, you will be reminded that the minimum req. for Proxy + Inline is 8Gb of RAM.
You will probably want a supported deployment for production, I guess.
